Shimano's best budget reels ever? Here's what the Angling Times said about the Nexave 2500 RA.
"This year we reckon Shimano has unveiled some of the best 'budget priced' reels they've ever produced and if you've got around 29.99 burning a hole in your pocket and want a damned good front drag match reel, then you should be looking at this one.
The Nexave RA boasts three stainless steel bearings plus a roller bearing, making it silky-smooth. The two, cold forged aluminium spools supplied carry around 200yds of 6lb mono, making it ideal for all float and light/medium leger work and the fron drag is one of the smoothest on the market - we've certainly not seen smoother in this price range.
A 5.2:1 retrieve ratio cranks back around 74cm (29ins) of line per handle revolution and a full package of design features make this reel smooth, reliable and wobble-free."
