The aim of my blog is hopefully to give you the reader an insight into my world. That includes any interesting events that occur plus my match fishing exploits. Now for anyone who doesn’t know me I am a full time angling consultant. I work for Shimano, Korda and Ringer baits and hold down a weekly column in Angling Times. A lot of people ask me what being a consultant involves? Well let me tell you it doesn’t mean I get to go fishing everyday! In fact I seem to spend more time sat in front of my PC than I do sat on my seat box!

History wise I first started fishing when I was about 5 and won my first junior match at 11. From there I progressed through the ranks to senior level. In between I dabbled in the world of fly fishing and managed to represent England youth 3 times with the pinnacle being captaining the side for the home international on the Lake of Menteith in Scotland. After that my coarse fishing really took over and the trout fishing had to take a back seat. In 1998 I managed to win Fishomania in my third final and in 2003 I added the Parkdean masters title to my name as well. With both matches featuring a £25,000 prize fund they weren’t to be sneezed at! Other than that I have managed to win 6 Whiteacres festivals, the Maver pole pairs twice with my Dad Geoff and numerous other high profile events.

In more recent times I have got back into the fly fishing and even have a season ticket at my local water Pitsford Reservoir. There is a lot to be said for travelling light with just a rod, net and a bag as far as I’m concerned! Other than fishing I also find time to play football and am a goalkeeper for Cold Ashby Rovers most Saturdays through the winter. So all in all you could say I keep fairly busy!
