Shimano wins 2 awards at EFTTEX 2012
From the 1st until the 3rd of June EFTTEX, the annual trade show organized by the European Fishing Tackle Trade Association (EFTTA), took place in Paris.
At EFTTEX each company is entitled to enter a maximum of 4 different products into the Best New Product competition. The competition is judged by a panel of independent experts during EFTTEX 2012.
Last year Shimano was awarded in the categories Best New Fixed Spool Reel and Best New Braid categories, this year they were honoured receiving the same awards again!

Best Fixed Spool Reel: Vanquish
In the Best New Fixed Spool Reel category Shimano entered the Vanquish reel - the lightest and smoothest spinning reel Shimano ever made. This reel is part of the new Light Weight Concept.
The Magnumlite rotor is build out of new CI4+ material, which reduces the weight and stiffens the rotor considerably. The new CI4+ material is 2,5 times stiffer compared to current CI4 which gives less wear out of internal parts. In combination with a Super Magnesium body, X-ship gearing system and backed up by 12 superior Shielded A-RB ball bearings, the Vanquish reel gives excellent cranking power, an ultra light rotation feeling and low weight in hand, while keeping the needed strength to fish also in saltwater conditions.

Best Braided Line: PowerPro Bite Motion
PowerPro Bite Motion is a high-visible orange line with black marks for bite indication which enables it to clearly see the line moving when a fish strikes.
Using lures (especially Soft baits) causes slack line when the lure falls back to the bottom. This is the moment a lot of fish strike without the angler feeling the bite! With PowerPro Bite Motion these bites can be detected watching the line movement. The black marks work as a strike indicator. The indicator will detect the bite on the fall and you will be able to react quickly! Extremely important to catch more fish as the fish will release the artificial bait in less than a second.

In the extensive category of Best Accessory Shimano was announced as Runner Up for the award with the new Shimano Carp Luggage.
